04 — THE LEGEND

The guardian of the mountains

  1. Snow-covered peaks of the Atlas mountains01 — THE PEAKS

Where snow meets the desert lived the greatest lion of North Africa. A dark mane, worn like a royal cloak.

  2. The lion's head rock, on the road to Tafraout02 — THE GUARDIAN

On the road to Tafraout, the mountain took its own shape. A rock the travellers call the lion's head. The stone remembered, when the men had forgotten.

  3. A hiker looking out over the valley from a peak, at sunset03 — THE SILENCE

Legend-seekers climbed these peaks. Dusk fell, silent. None ever found the great lion. But facing the valley, he still watched them.

  4. Children running toward their mountain village, past prickly pears and a loaded mule04 — THE RETURN

A generation proud of its roots, carrying its land and its people wherever it goes. The guardian has found his heirs.
